I saw this tag over at Ruby’s Book Blog and thought it looked like fun so I thought I would give it a go. This tag was created by the lovely BooksNest.

1. A book that a certain friend is always telling you to read
One of my closest friends is forever recommending books by Clare Mackintosh. I’m getting more and more into crime fiction and I picked up a copy of I Let You Go. She also gave me a copy of I See You, so I really need to get cracking on trying her books.

2. A book that’s been on your TBR forever and yet you still haven’t picked it up
This is probably the majority of my TBR to be perfectly honest. I’ve had Burial Rites by Hannah Kent on my TBR for the longest time and every time I pick it up I think it sounds like such a brilliant read and then I never get around to actually reading it.

3. A book in a series you’ve started, but haven’t gotten round to finishing yet
I’m completely terrible for starting a series and never finishing it. A prime example is the Throne of Glass series. I’ve read The Assassin’s Blade, Throne of Glass and Crown of Midnight – I own the rest of the series but haven’t picked them up yet.

4. A classic you’ve always liked the sound of, but never actually read
I really like reading classics and I studied English Literature at University so have read a fair number – I haven’t yet read Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier yet so I really need to get around to that.

5. A popular book that it seems everyone but you has read
I could probably make a list a mile long of popular books I haven’t read yet but I’d really liked to get around to reading Three Dark Crowns because so many people seem to love that series.

6. A book that inspired a film/TV adaptation that you really love, but you just haven’t read it yet
This was quite a difficult one because I’m a bit of a stickler for reading the book before I see the movie but I saw A New York Winter’s Tale at the cinema and enjoyed it. I later learned it was originally  a book so I bought a copy and haven’t read it yet – does that count?

7. A book you see all over Instagram but haven’t picked up yet
I’ve been seeing The Devouring Gray by Christine Lynn Herman all over Instagram lately and I am really excited to read that one. I’m definitely hoping to get to it this month.
