This is a book I’m looking forward to so much. For a long time Margaret Atwood was an author that I knew of but had never read before. While I was at University one of our modules included The Handmaid’s Tale and I became completely engrossed in the story. I’ve read it a few times and still to think day it blows me away. Since then I’ve read a number of her books and I’ve loved every single one. The ending of The Handmaid’s Tale definitely left me wanting more and I’m so intrigued to find out what’s going to happen in Gilead fifteen years after the events of the first book. The Handmaid’s Tale is one of those books I recommend to everyone, it’s such a brilliant piece of writing. The story is incredibly dark and I honestly have no idea what’s going to happen next, but I’m sure it will be an unputdownable read. The Testaments is publishing September 10th 2019 from Vintage Books.
I am so excited to read this book. I’ve read two books by Kiran Milwood Hargrave before – The Girl of Ink and Stars and The Way Past Winter – and I adored them both. When I heard she had a new book coming out I was really interested and then I saw that the book was an imagined untold story of the brides of Dracula. Where do I sign up? Dracula is one of my all time favourite books and I love reading new versions of the tale or untold stories like this one. Kiran Milwood Hargrave has such a gorgeous writing style and I’m so excited to see where she takes this story. Her previous books have been middle grade so I’m looking forward to seeing her first book for a YA audience. I’ve requested an ARC of this on Netgalley and I’m keeping my fingers and toes crossed that I get approved because I really can’t wait to read this one. 
I am honestly desperate to get my hands on this book. I read Blackwing – the first book in the Raven’s Mark series and I gave it five stars and it was on my favourite books of 2017 list. I then read Ravencry last year, it also got five stars and made my top books of 2018. It also made me cry and I really became attached to the wonderful characters in this unique and gripping fantasy series. Crowfall is the third and final book in the series and while I’m so sad that the series will be over I am just dying to know if my favourite characters are going to make it through. This series is so fast paced and intense and I just love returning to the world that Ed McDonald has created. I was lucky enough to meet Ed at YALC in 2017 and 2018 and my signed copies have pride of place on my favourites shelf. I’ve already pre-ordered Crowfall and it is without a doubt one of my most anticipated releases of 2019.
